I needed a replacement for a very old cover. I didn't think I could find one but this is exactly what I needed. It's well made and works with the functions the pad is designed for. Definitely recommend.
Our Take: The cover is the secret behind every Thermophore's moist heat. The cotton and fleece blend absorbs humidity from the air between sessions, and when the pad heats up, it releases that moisture as therapeutic steam. Over time, especially with frequent washing or years of use, the fleece can wear thin, shrink, or lose its ability to absorb moisture effectively. When that happens, your Thermophore may start producing dry heat instead of moist heat. A new cover can help restore that moist heat function. This Replacement Muff Cover fits the 14" × 14" medium pads and the Thermophore Hand Muff (Model 174). If you need a different size, Thermophore also offers the Moist-Sure Fleece Cover for other pad sizes and the Moisture-Plus Cover for people who want added moisture support in dry climates.

The fleece absorbs humidity from the air and releases it as steam when heated. Without a properly functioning cover, your Thermophore may only produce dry heat.

After long use, the fleece fibers can wear thin and lose their ability to absorb humidity effectively.

Machine washing or hot water can shrink a cover. A cover that does not wrap the pad properly may reduce even moist heat performance.

The Replacement Muff Cover fits Thermophore MaxHEAT 14 by 14 inch medium pads and the Thermophore Hand Muff Model 174. It does not fit the large 14 by 27 inch pads or the petite 4 by 17 inch pads. For those sizes, see the standard Moist-Sure Fleece Covers.

How do I care for the cover?
Hand wash the cover in tepid water with mild soap and drip dry. Do not machine wash or machine dry. Make sure the cover is fully dry and has had time to absorb moisture from the air before reusing. A dry cover that has reabsorbed humidity will produce the best moist heat.
When should I replace my Thermophore cover?
Replace the cover when it no longer produces adequate moist heat, when the fleece has worn thin, when it has shrunk from washing, or when it no longer fits the pad snugly.
What is the cover made of?
The Replacement Muff Cover is made of a cotton and fleece blend. This blend is designed to absorb atmospheric moisture and release it as therapeutic steam when heated.
Is it good to have a spare cover?
Yes. Having a spare cover means you can wash one while using the other, so you always have a fresh cover ready for your next session and a backup if your primary cover wears out.
Will this cover restore moist heat to my old Thermophore?
If your Thermophore still heats up properly but no longer produces moist heat, a new cover may help restore the moist heat function. However, if the pad itself has stopped heating or heats unevenly, the issue is with the pad and not the cover.
